mick jagger

i actually find this very amusing because we are all guilty of imagining things in our head that will never be true and could never be true. im sure everyone will agree with me on that one..we all have fantasies that we know will never come true but just the same, we cant let them go. now, to completely change directions. this story really makes me think about my personal past...not that i chased around the stones haha but that i have lied to my parents and gone out to do stuff that they would never approve of. and getting so caught up in the fun that i was having that even in the very back of my mind i knew i should do the right thing and go home and take care of myself but i didnt let other ppl see that it bothered me as much as it really did so they never noticed....and it didnt take the realization that a fantasy was just that, a fantasy, to get me to my senses, it just took the realization of a very good friend that i really couldnt handle myself anymore and needed to go home where i could be taken care of and safe,, i have grown up a lot since then and not to say that i dont still get into trouble,, just that its always good to have someone around that will keep you on track when your too caught up in the fun to do it yourself.

the contrast between fantasy and reality is very big and obvious as we all know, even though we cant help ourselves. in this text she describes some of the parties she went to while in high school but also mentions how she really felt afterwords,, this shows maturity because had she still been this age she would have never admitted that she really wanted to go home she would have left that part out to make what she was doing seem "glamorous" and more fun then what it actually was.

personality

so,, i just took my personality tests and i found out that i am a ESFJ: extaversion, sensing, feeling, judgement. although i have no clue what it means i guess it is good to know. i also took the political test thing and i have no idea how to read the results so no clue about that either, however i didnt realize that i felt the way i did about certain subjects such as abortion, how our economy is, how our environment is, and what is taught in our schools, and how comfortable and normal it is for ppl to talk about sex openly now as opposed to ten or twenty years ago. sometimes it does go a little too far but oh well, whatever floats your boat i guess, anyways here is my questions answered

1. do you have a spiritual belief or practice? yes i do :)

2. is belief itself a problem? i dont think so

3. how important is tolerance of differing beliefs in regard to this topic? very

4. do you believe in divine being or higher power? yes i do

5. how do you relate (or not) to this conept of a higher power? i believe that there i a God and a Holy Spirit

6. what is the relationship between the physical and spiritual world? this is a hard question to answer because to me the answer is very simple....belief and trust

7. how important (or not) is spirituality to your personal identity? it use to be more important than it is now, which is not a good thing, but i still put my spiritual beliefs before anything else

8. what is your attitude to people whose viewson spiritual matters differ from your own? everyone has their own beliefs because of how they are raised, but i dont discrminate against ppl who have different beliefs i am just very curious

9. do you believe yur spiritual beliefs continue to change over time or generally stay the same? for me personally my beliefs have changed as i have gotten older and understood things enough to make my own assumptions about things.

10. what is the importance of change or its lack? i think that the importance is that if your are lacking overtime then you are just making it harder for yourself to be put back on the right track someday when you are mature enough to realize the mistakes you made.

us and them

so iv just read us and them and it really makes me think about the way we look at ppl. when we see someone who is a little, or a lot, different first: we feel pitty for them and we sometimes try to defend them in our minds but we never really get to know them or try to understand them. Second: we find a reason to not like them and to not be there friend, maybe because they are different or maybe because we just dont want to make the effort.
Then for me persnally I look back and i try to find that reason that i once disliked someone and its hard for me to remember because i didnt really have a reason in the first place because they were just a little different.
I do think us and them is a good story beause it gives a sort of insight to how we think and judge ppl aon a dail basis.
so this question in the book asks what is the signifigance of the two hand written signs from halloween, one saying dont be greedy, to which the charactors get frustrated because they think that they have a right to the candy. the other sign says my candy keepout, this just shows how hipocrytical we can be because of course we dont want other ppl to be greedy but to most ppl its just second nature to be greedy.
so, i hope i did this right, just blogging about what i thought the story was about and how it affected me and made me think.....enjoy :)

my writing history

So this assignment has really got me stumped. The only writing history I really have is what has been assigned to me in school. I don't really like to write about my feelings in poems and such like some people, I would rather just sit down and talk to someone about it.

My very first writing assignment, its amazing I remember this, but it was in first grade and we had to write a short biography on Abraham Lincoln. It's hard to believe that I went from that to where I am now, writing a blog in college. I'm not very good with writing, I grew up in an education system that put more emphasis on sports than anything else, but hey this is America and that's just the way we do things.

I did my english work in high school when it was assighned and i always did good enough to make a B, but to be honest i didn't really care enough about writing to try any harder. Writing definitley does not came easy to me. I find it hard to think of things to write about and when i have a topic i find it hard to actually think of something to say. So needless to say english and writing are not my strongest subjects, but i do try. As far as writing creatively I have not done that very much if ever. So this class is sure to be a struggle for me. I don't really know how to email, i would much rather call someone or text them, but I'm beggining to get the hang of it.

I love to read what people have to say and just read in general, but I don't like to write what i have to say. I will read anything as long as its interesting. The assignment we had to read over rhetorical situations was not interesting, just so you know.
